![]() Our commitment at Loganville Community Ministry Village is to be a community outreach that serves families and children. We seek to provide resources that can help families to be safe and productive. Nothing threatens the safety of a child more than sexual abuse. Unfortunately statistics show that sexual abuse is rampant in our community. In 2005 an average of 100 cases per month of suspected abuse were reported in Walton County. In order to get the forensic testing that is needed to prosecute the offender, it is necessary that the child is taken to a child advocacy center. There has not been a child advocacy center located in the Alcovy judicial district; the children from our community have had to be taken to the child advocacy center located at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Loganville Community Ministry Village has partnered with A Child’s Voice advocacy center. The child advocacy center is housed in the ministry village, providing a valuable resource to the community as well as offering the medical and mental health care that these children will need. Volunteer Doctors, Nurses and trained forensic interviewers will conduct the needed testing and treatment. The children will also be given the opportunity to participate in counseling through the Hope House Counseling Center. One of the most common issues dealt with in counseling is unresolved childhood abuse. It is our hope that the partnership between A Child’s Voice and the Hope House will provide immediate treatment as well as continued support to help children overcome what may be the most traumatic event of their lives.
