During turbulent economic times, one area of need increases; that comes in the area of counseling. Economic strains lead to relational strains and a significant increase in anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, the same financial strains that lead to the problems also prohibit many people from obtaining the help they may need from a professional counselor. The loss of employment often leads to the loss of medical insurance or the inability to even see a counselor at a reduced rate on a sliding fee scale.

Loganville Community Ministry Village is committed to offering assistance to anyone needing help. We will not turn anyone away who is in need of our services, however, we too have felt the financial crunch. LCMV is a non-profit organization, as such we depend on donations from individuals, churches and businesses to carry out our ministries. In order to be able to continue our policy of not turning anyone away, we need your help.

We have set up a scholarship program to offer counseling to persons who would otherwise not be able to afford it. This scholarship program will allow us to pay our Professional Counselors while offering much needed services. Currently we have three tiers of counseling that we offer.

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), who accept insurance and Medicaid. Typically these insurance companies have a deductible around $30 - $40 per visit.

Licensed Associate Professional Counselors  (LAPC) and Masters level Counselors working toward state Licensure. These counselors work on a sliding fee scale based on family size and income. This scale ranges from $25 per visit to $75 per visit depending on income.

Counseling Interns. We employee interns from local Universities who are finishing up the requirements for their Masters degree. Typically an internship will last approximately one year, just prior to graduation, at which point they are eligible to take the State licensure exam and begin counseling full time. The flat rate for interns is $15 per session.

The scholarship program works like this:

Caring individuals can sponsor counseling sessions for someone else. This may be a child a married couple, or an individual. 100% of the donated scholarship amount would go directly to providing counseling for those in need. While confidentiality laws prevent us from providing the names or personal information of the people that you are providing services for, we will be glad to earmark your scholarship for a specific area of counseling (ie. Marriage, Child, individual). When your scholarship has been given to someone, you will receive a letter from the Ministry Village letting you know that your scholarship has been utilized. Memorial Scholarships may be offered in honor of a loved one who has passed away. In the case of memorial scholarships, a letter honoring the person will be sent to the designated family.

Scholarships will be based on $40 per session, which is the approximate average of most counseling sessions, Typically the duration of counseling is 6 – 10 sessions. Scholarships can be purchased per session. So for a donation of $400 you can provide counseling for 10 sessions for someone in need.
